Know Signs of Diabetes & Check Blood Sugar Before It's Too Late

Glucose Monitoring System

Continuous glucose monitoring system is a device that has been approved by FDA. It records the levels of blood sugar in the day as well as the nights. There have been many technologies that are tested. The glucose monitoring system is used for measuring the average level of blood sugar even for 3 days. The diabetic sufferer can continue his daily activities at home or office

How does The Glucose Monitoring System Works
First of all a tiny sensor is inserted under the abdominal skin of the diabetics. It is a glucose sensing device. The insertion is not painful and is quick as well; it is more like the insertion of catheter of insulin pump. Tape is then used to hold the sensor on its place.

The sensor then measure the glucose blood level within the tissues after every 10 second. This information is then sent with the help of a wire to a monitor. This pager sized monitor is attached to the waistline or belts of the pants. The system is capable of recording average value of glucose after every 5 minutes.

The readings of four finger stick blood levels are taken with the help of standard blood glucose meter and entered in the monitor for the purpose of calibration. Likewise any exercise, snacks and meals are also entered in the monitor.

The sensor is removed after 3 days at the doctor’s office. The information is then stored and then downloaded in the computer. The doctor is then in a better position of reviewing your blood sugar levels and can make better adjustments in the dietary plan.
