Know Signs of Diabetes & Check Blood Sugar Before It's Too Late

Low Blood Sugar

Low blood sugar is a condition generally faced by the patients of diabetes. Low blood sugar is also termed hypoglycemia.

The major hormone released during the phase of hypoglycemia is termed Epinephrine. This is the hormone that is responsible for most of the low blood sugar symptoms.

Some common symptoms of low blood sugar include

  • Clammy skin
  • Trembling
  • Palpitation
  • Sweating
  • Anxiety
  • Irritability
  • Hunger

If the brain of the person remains deprived of glucose or sugar, another set of low blood sugar symptoms follows the one mentioned earlier. These are

  • Thinking difficulties
  • Confusion
  • Seizures
  • Headaches
  • Diabetic coma

In the extreme cases after the significant loss of consciousness or significant coma death can even occur.

It is critical to realize that repeated or chronic hypoglycemia makes the body unable to realize this phase and the body also does not respond vigorously. There are many patients of hypoglycemia that shows only mild or even no signs at all.

It makes further important to document the blood glucose levels for the confirmation of diagnosis. This will also help the patient to determine the specific cause of hypoglycemia.
