UNEXPLAINED WEIGHT LOSS - WARNING SIGN OF
DIABETES
Diabetes is a disease which occurs when body becomes unable to produce or use the provided insulin.
Insulin is the hormone responsible for converting sugar in the form of energy.
The diabetes once diagnosed cannot be cured. But there are ways to manage the disease effectively.
The key to the better management of diabetes is its early detection. To diagnose the diseases at its earliest
stage it is important that a person must know about the warning signs of diabetes. Sometimes it is hard to
detect diabetes as the early signs are so harmless that they are often ignored.
One such early sign of diabetes is unexplained weight loss.
It was previously supposed that tissues of the body start to melt away into urine. The modern view
is not far from that supposition. A part of the weight loss that occurs because of diabetes is due to
dehydration. The remaining part is because of the muscle breakdown and decrease of adipose tissue. The body
of the diabetic gets denied of the needed amount of calories which also results in an unexplained weight
loss. These calories instead of being utilized in the body are expelled out of the body in the form of
urine.
As body has started to lose calories through urine it results in another warning sign of diabetes.
This is extensive hunger. The diabetic is unable to absorb the glucose that makes him feel hungry.
Sometimes a person feels happy that he is losing weight as he fails to recognize that unexplained
weight loss can be one of the warning signs of diabetes.
