YEAST INFECTION - WARNING SIGN OF
DIABETES
Recurring yeast infection is a warning sign of diabetes. To better understand the link between
diabetes and yeast infection, a person must know why it occurs. The gastrointestinal tract of a person
contains many bacteria – both good and bad ones. Our unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle sometimes disturbs
this balance. The name of one bacterium in our gastrointestinal tract is yeast.
The overgrowth of
yeast is the prime cause of severe yeast infection. The reason of overgrowth of yeast is either eating excessive
sugar or increased levels of blood sugar. If a person is experiencing repeated yeast infection it is better to have
the levels of blood sugar checked.
If a person suffers from diabetes he had to fight a battle against candida breakouts constantly. If
the warning signs of diabetes are ignored and the diabetes left untreated then in the advanced stages a
diabetic may experience not only thrush or vaginal yeast infection but body rashes and other intestinal
problems like constipation or diarrhea.
The treatments of people who are suffering from yeast infection because of diabetes are complex.
However a diet that is low in sugar works well. Such diet causes the yeast fungus to starve and finally die.
A better idea is to avoid eating honey, dried fruits and mushroom as they feed yeast. These food items can be
reintroduced in the diet after around 3-6 months.
It is always good to listen to your body as any such problem can be the warning sign of
diabetes.
